FAQs

How do I register my children for Sunday morning?

Fill out your information, including your children’s information. When you arrive on Sunday morning, head to a kiosk, enter the last four digits of your phone number, and then print off the check-in labels.

Where should I park?

The main CCC Kids entrance is located on the east side of the building, facing I-680. From 108th Avenue, turn left onto Harney Street, then turn right after the CCC Student Center. Park anywhere in the lot closest to the big square glass entrance with the colored poles.

What curriculum do you use?

CCC uses Think Orange. This curriculum helps kids learn and experience the characteristics of God as shown in the Bible, while partnering with parents. Think Orange states, “We believe that two combined influences make a greater impact than just two individual influences.” The Church, or light, is represented by yellow, while the home, or heart, is represented by red. Together, yellow and red combine to make orange.

How can I begin volunteering with CCC Kids?

We’d love to have you join the team! Please fill out the online application first. You will then shadow a volunteer in a classroom, which will help you determine the age or grade with whom you feel called to serve. CCC conducts a background check on all adults ages eighteen and older who apply to serve in CCC Kids. After the background check has been completed and you are cleared to work with kids, you will be trained on the CCC Kids policies, procedures, and vision. Finally, you will be assigned a role and classroom. For more information, please email the CCC Kids Team at kids@cccomaha.org

My child has allergies. Are you nut/gluten/dairy/etc. free?

CCC is not a nut-free church. However, the snacks we offer age three and younger do not contain nuts. There is a gluten-free option available upon request. When you register your child, please include your child’s allergies. Each week, your child’s printed name tag will include his or her allergies, but it’s also a good idea to remind your child’s teacher when you drop them off in the morning.

Do you background check volunteers?

All volunteers serving in CCC Kids have completed a background check and been cleared to serve in CCC Kids. This is only one of the steps we follow to maintain safety in the classroom. Volunteers are also trained regularly on child safety and being aware of and reporting anything suspicious. No CCC volunteer will ever be alone with a child or group of children at CCC.

How can I get involved in what my children are learning?

Think Orange offers the Parent Cue app that allows CCC to customize content for parents. Download the app, enter your child(ren’s) ages, and you will be able to view the lesson, main point, and memory verse each week. Helping you do what God has called you to do in the lives of your kids is what our team loves best! If you need help downloading or using the app, contact the CCC Kids Team at 402.938.1520 or email kids@cccomaha.org.

Placement Guide

Nursery

Birth to Fifteen Months

It’s never too early to teach your child about Jesus and his incredible love for them! In the CCC nursery, we have a group of amazing volunteers who are passionate about sharing the love of Jesus. The nursery takes babies from birth to fifteen months. There are separate classrooms for infants, crawlers, and walkers, so all toys and activities are age-appropriate. Your child will encounter Jesus through songs, games, and lessons that will make them excited to come back every week! All classrooms, toys, and diaper-changing stations are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized after every use. Let us partner with you in nurturing your child’s spiritual development.

Toddlers

Sixteen to Twenty-Three Months

We start by helping toddlers learn to sit for a very short story, hear and understand the name of Jesus, and work on a simple craft or coloring page. This helps prepare them for the two-year-old hallway, where they will do more with the lesson and story. We want to help them learn church is a safe place and that mom or dad will always return to get them.

Two- & Three-Year-Olds

Two & Three Year Old’s

During these two years of life, we want to help kids know God made them, God loves them, and that God is with them. Each service includes a story time with either a video or a storyteller. The small group time focuses on building relationships and having fun with crafts, playtime, and hands-on activities that go along with the day’s Bible story.

Pre-K & K

Four- to Five-Year-Olds & Kindergarten

Our hope is to give children a first look at God and help them to know God made them, God loves them, and Jesus wants to be their friend forever. There is large group time with worship music, Bible stories, scripture memory, and prayer. The small group time focuses on building relationships and having fun with crafts, games, and activities that go along with the day’s Bible story.

Elementary

First Through Fifth Grade

We engage elementary students in fun, encouraging community with the opportunity to build life-long relationships. Students will dive into worship and biblical teaching to learn about God’s character and experience his presence. Sunday morning concludes with small groups led by consistent volunteers committed to discipling the next generation. We encourage kids to attend the same hour each week so they can build impactful relationships with their leaders and peers. Kids Cash is given out as a reward for first-time guests, Bible verse memory, bringing Bibles and friends, and other good works for use at the CCC Kids Corner Store before service in their Welcome Room.

Our mission wouldn’t be complete without you! Partnering with you is at the core of our ministry. Take a look at the Parent Cue app to follow along with what your child is learning in our classrooms each week and find fun activities to continue engaging at home.

The Parent Cue App cues you to have simple and meaningful faith moments with your kid that will fit seamlessly into the daily rhythm of your life.

Our lives are busy. As parents, we want to prioritize our children. We want to do everything we can to invest in them relationally, to guide them developmentally, and to help them grow in their faith in Christ. It’s so easy to get caught up in the urgent, day-to-day busyness of life.

Every parent has 936 weeks of influence from the time their child is born until they graduate from high school. Parent Cue helps you count the weeks and connects you with practical things to read, do, or say to help you engage with the heart of your child this week. Designed for parents of babies through high schoolers, these prompts will come in the form of videos and discussion points for mornings, mealtimes, while you are cuddling with your toddler, or while you are driving in the car. Each week, there’s even a Phase Cue to help you understand the developmental phase your child is currently in.

936 weeks. You don’t want to miss a single one.

Parent & Child Dedication

A spiritual milestone for parents and their children.

We look at Parent & Child Dedication as a spiritual milestone. This time of dedication is an opportunity to publicly say that your child is a gift from God and that you as a parent are committing to raise your child with God’s guidance.

We offer Parent & Child Dedications in the main service at 9 & 10:45 AM four times a year. The first step is scheduling a meeting with a CCC Kids staff member.  We also have a required pre-dedication class for the parents before the dedication. In this class, we discuss dedication and the commitment you are making as parents. Additionally, because we believe parenting well is a high value, we offer helpful parenting information.
