He Still Heals: Dan McClannan’s Story of God’s Power

For months, Dan McClannan lived with excruciating back pain.

A herniated disc left him barely able to sit, sleep, or move without sharp, shooting pain. Every day was a struggle to navigate meetings, conversations, and family life. Doctors recommended pain-block injections and had surgery scheduled. Yet, even with medication and rest, nothing seemed to help.

Dan had prayed for healing before. His coworkers and friends at CCC had prayed too. But the pain stayed.

Then one of his teammates reminded him of the words in James 5  — “Call the elders of the church to pray over you and anoint you with oil in the name of the Lord.”

Dan realized he’d never taken that simple, biblical step of obedience.

That Sunday, he walked into the CCC Prayer Room, surrounded by elders and prayer team members who laid hands on him and prayed for healing.

Nothing dramatic happened in that moment, no flash of light, no overwhelming emotion, just peace. But that evening he noticed something unusual: the pain was gone. The next morning, he woke up completely pain-free. No stiffness, no shooting pain, no trace of the injury that had ruled his life for weeks.

“I had no other explanation,” Dan said. “Every day before that had been full of pain, and suddenly, I was free. God healed me.”

Since that day, Dan’s life has taken a different turn. His strength returned, his workouts resumed, and his faith grew even stronger. “It gave me a second chance at health,” he shared. “But even more, it deepened my trust in God’s power and goodness. He still heals today.”

Hope for Your Healing

Maybe you’re carrying your own pain—physical, emotional, or spiritual—and wondering if God still heals. Dan’s story is a reminder that Jesus is still our healer. Sometimes healing happens instantly; other times, it happens through a long process. But God continually invites us to seek him, to trust his timing, and to walk in faith.

If you’re longing for healing, visit the Prayer Room this Sunday. Let someone pray with you.

And don’t miss the Christ Our Healer Conference, happening November 14–15.
