A Simple Way to Start Connecting

Community is our middle name. If you’ve been around CCC for any length of time, you’ve probably heard us say that. But if you’ve been here over the last five weeks, you’ve seen it lived out in real time.
- In the atrium each Sunday, where leaders are connecting with new and potential group members.
- In the real stories being shared in the app, weekly emails, and Sunday services.
- On the CCC app, where you can pray with people you may have never even met.
Community happens in many ways, but one of the most powerful is joining a group that meets outside of Sunday services.
Sometimes that happens organically—like when a friend invites you to their group. When my husband and I first visited CCC, Allison Dykhouse invited us to join their group, and that became our very first community here.
Other times it happens programmatically—like when the Adult Ministries team sets up group tables in the atrium. More than 100 people have signed up for groups after checking out the atrium map, in addition to the countless personal invitations happening each week.
But sometimes, finding community can feel challenging. Maybe Sundays in the atrium feel overwhelming. Maybe weeknights are already packed with kids’ activities and commitments. Or maybe walking into a stranger’s home—or making a long-term commitment to “do life together”—feels intimidating.

If that’s where you find yourself, we’d love to invite you to try a short-term group on Sundays, September 7–November 9, at 10:45 AM in Room D126. Your hosts will be Greg and Donna Carlson and Scott and Tami Wade. As Greg put it, he looks forward to “helping people find community, seeing the Bible’s significance in our lives, and going deeper in fresh and fun ways.”
Look for Greg and Donna in the atrium this Sunday!

Our hope is that this group gives you the chance to make new friends and begin relationships that could grow into long-term community. Each week, we’ll reflect on the morning’s sermon and also dive deeper into a story or text from that section of the Old Testament.
Learn more or sign up here. Or simply show up in Room D126 starting in September. All are welcome!
