Discerning the Voice of God:  How to Recognize When God Speaks

6:30-8pm / 7 weeks / ends 3.5 / $18 / Facilitated by Korey Stading / If hearing God has seemed challenging, join us as we explore a more intimate relationship with Him, one that can make hearing Him – His will, His heart, and His voice – your ongoing experience.  Discover how you can listen with greater confidence, clarity and discernment.  Updated and substantially expanded, this revised video study by Priscilla Shirer includes weekly insights from Priscilla’s father, Dr. Tony Evans.  More deeply understand the Holy Spirit’s role in your life.  Differentiate His voice from imposters’ voices, even from your own.  Glimpse His guidance in your everyday life.  Grow consistently in obedience, surrender, stillness, and humility.  Study commitment:  30 minutes a day, 5 days a week.

The Lamb of God:  Seeing Jesus in Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy

6:30-8pm / 10 weeks / ends 3.26 / $22 / Led by Tara Kurtz / Have you ever read books of the Old Testament and wondered:  “Why is this in here?  What does that mean?”  In The Lamb of God, we will uncover the Gospel that marks every page.  As we read through Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy, we will unfold who the Lamb of God who takes our sins away is and in doing so, we hope to get to know Jesus more intimately.  We will see the work of Jesus in the person of Moses and the exodus from slavery.  We will see God’s Grace in the Law.  We will see why we so deeply need a savior in the exodus from slavery.  We will see why we so deeply need a savior in the sacrifices, feasts and washings.  We will unpack one of the great mysteries of the Bible – ours is a perfect and just God who loves in spite of who we are and aren’t, in spite of what we’ve done or have not done, and in spite of the imperfectness of our love for Him.  Jesus is that mystery – all of this was accomplished through His works.  This Truth is on every page, in every story, and that which each person points in the Old Testament.  Come get to know our God by seeing His plan of redemption unfold; get to know the One who says:  “I will walk among you and be your God, and you will be my People.”  (Leviticus 26:12)  Study commitment: 2 hours a week.

Tuesday morning / Begins January 23

Anxious for Nothing:  Finding Calm in a Chaotic World

9:30-11am / 6 weeks / ends 2.27 / $16 / Led by Sherry Martin / Anxiety disorders are reaching epidemic proportions in America.  We are tense.  Why?  Change is one reason.  Sociologists speculate the world has changed more in the last thirty years than it has in the last three hundred!  Every day seems to bring new change and threats.  We also face personal challenges – job loss, cancer, divorce, addiction, bankruptcy.  Anxiety just comes with life.  However, as God’s Word reveals, it doesn’t have to dominate life.  This video study by Max Lucado looks at seven admonitions from the apostle Paul in Philippians 4:4-8 that lead to one wonderful promise:  “The peace of God which surpasses all understanding.”  Study commitment:  2 hours a week.  Optional:  Participants may want to purchase a companion book by the same title to supplement the study guide.
