Be a Servant of the Lord
"Here is my servant, whom I uphold." Isaiah 42-1
In our lives there are many things that require our attention: spouse, children, job, hobbies, desires, etc. These things can become so demanding in our lives that we actually become a servant of them and in doing so, we lose sight of who we are to be ultimately serving……God.
He will take the ordinary circumstances we face and use them to develop our character. He will take our difficult circumstances to promote greater dependence on Him. Whether we recognize it or not, God is involved in all aspects of our lives. He places us in situations according to His will and purpose. He places us where He wants us to make a difference in the world around us as His servants.
Colossians 3:23-24 reads, “Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ.” We are to be an obedient and faithful servant to Him in each task or circumstance that we are faced with, because first and foremost, we are to be serving Christ.
