Flood Response

Many of you have been wondering how you can help families impacted by the recent flooding in Nebraska. As we have done in the past with disaster relief inside the US, we are working with a local partner called Omaha Rapid Response. They have said they will know a lot more this coming week on the needs of impacted families and opportunities to serve them, but we believe there are a few things we can start doing now.

Donations of cleaning supplies

Starting this week, we will have a place setup in the Atrium at Christ Community Church where you can drop off much needed items.

Scrub brushes

Clean up work begins when the water has receded and Omaha Rapid Response will be coordinating teams over the next month. We will let you know all the details on social media and on Sundays.

If you would like to give financially to the flooding relief efforts of the church, you can do so by placing cash in CCC Giving Envelopes and writing “Flood” on the outside of the envelope. If you give with a check, simply write “Flood” in the memo line. This will ensure your gift goes directly to the flood relief fund. You can also give online.

Donations of other items

If you would like to donate other items (furniture, clothing, shoes, homegoods) to help people who have been directly impacted by the floods, visit the Love Can Store. The Love Can Store is a non-profit run by CCC members and they are ready and able to accept and distribute items to those in need. Visit LoveCanStore.com for a complete list or items needed and for drop-off/pick-up details. Please do not drop off these items at the church. We are not equipped to process these types of donations.
