Friends
Because people of all abilities matter to God, Friends provides support for special needs children and youth in Sunday morning class rooms, during special events and provides respite care the first Friday of every month at the Old Mill Campus. Friends equips children and youth with needed support, enabling them to be full participants and contributors. This ministry also provides an opportunity for caring individuals to use and develop their spiritual gifts, serving in a ministry that has immediate and positive impact.
Friends Sunday mornings
Self-contained classroom
Friends Ministry serves children whose needs cannot be met in a traditional classroom setting, providing a safe, nurturing environment as children are guided in a Bible lesson and activities.
Traditional classroom
Friends Ministry facilitates the inclusion of a special needs student in a traditional classroom setting. Students are provided with one-on-one assistance enabling them to learn about Jesus and interact with other children.
Teen class
AT 9 AM, the Friends Teen Class is a unique, comfortable classroom experience for teens with special needs. Teens participate with peers in discussion, games and activities centered on God's Word.
Friends on Friday
The first Friday of the month from 6:00 - 9:00 PM, Friends offers a fun and safe evening of activity and extra special care, giving parents and caregivers an evening away to rejuvenate and strengthen their relationships. Special needs children and their siblings participate in an evening filled with activities ranging from play time in the gym to watching movies.
