Parent & Child Dedications

You might have heard the song growing up, “Jesus loves the little children, all the children of the world.” Here at CCC, we love kids! We believe that kids matter to God.

We look at Parent & Child Dedication as a spiritual milestone. This time of dedication is an opportunity to publicly say that your child is a gift from God and that you as a parent are committing to raise your child with God’s guidance.

We offer Parent & Child Dedications in the main service at 9:00 AM and 10:45 AM four times a year. The first step is scheduling a meeting with a CCC Kids staff member. We also require a pre-dedication class for the parents before the dedication. In this class we will discuss dedication further and the commitment you are making as parents. Additionally, because parenting is such a high value, we will also offer some helpful parenting information during the class.

To sign up, fill out the form below and a CCC Kids staff member will reach out to set up a meeting. Questions? Contact stacyj@cccomaha.org

What is Parent & Child Dedication?

Parent & Child Dedication is a time of public and personal commitment where parents promise to raise their children with godly principles, so that one day when they are ready and understand, they can choose to accept Christ. Through this time of dedication, you show your family, friends, and the church body that before God, you are willing to take on the responsibility of guiding your child into a relationship with God.

How is dedication different from baptism?

Parent & Child Dedication is not a sacrament, nor is it a declaration of a child’s faith. Rather, it is a commitment that parents are making.

Why is Parent & Child Dedication important?

We believe children belong first and foremost to God. We not only have an awesome responsibility to be the spiritual leaders for, and to care for our children, but also to enjoy this gift. As it says in Psalm 127:3, "Children are a gift from the Lord; they are a reward from him."
