More good news!

I dug around a little on the CDC website and found this info that was released back on May 15.  I had heard rumors, but didn't find the official statement until this week.  While the World Health Organization was quicker to lift their travel warnings, the CDC has also removed all warnings against travel to Mexico.  I see this as a big green light to move forward with all faith and confidence (and continued wisdom) that God is preparing the way before us.  If, as a parent, you still have concerns that you need to discuss, please feel free to call me at 402-938-1537 or email me at davei@cccomaha.org

Pre-trip Success

I wanted to thank you for your prayers during the recent pre-trip.  We had safe travel and a great time connecting with our new friends in Mexico.  We visited the families that we'll build homes for and determined the best layout and such that we can provide for them.  We talked with Pastor Alejandro about details for the Bible Club each morning - he thinks we could easily have 100+ kids there on the first day!

I was thankful that God smoothed the way for us and we were able to make all the necessary arrangements and meet with all the people that we needed to touch base with.

Mexico Pre-trip

I wanted to ask for your prayers as I head down to Brownsville/Matamoros with Rollie Moyer and Israel Cordero to make arrangements for the missions trip.  Pray...
  • For safe travel
  • That we'll connect with all the individuals we need to meet with
  • That we will be able to purchase the supplies we need and arranage delivery
  • That we will find suitable locations for some of the smaller activities we want to do in Texas
  • That we will be a blessing as we interact with people in Mexico
Thanks for lifting us up to God in your prayers!

Mexico Donations

One of the big questions that came up at the meeting on May 3 was regarding donations given if a student drops out of the trip or if the trip is canceled.  In either case the donations will be returned.

If the trip is canceled, all donations will be returned.  Each student would send a follow up letter to their first letter explaining the cancelation and the church would return the donations received.

If a student drops out of the trip, they would send a follow up letter and explaining the situation.  The donors then have an option to leave their donation in support of the trip or they can request to have it returned.  If donors would like their money back, they should call Elizabeth Bartz at 402-938-1530 or email her at elizabethb@cccomaha.org.  We can also provide an insert explaining this to include in your follow up letter if that would be helpful.

Mexico team update

Here is the link to the World Health Organization website that gives daily updates and factual information about the H1N1 flu situation.  We are continueing to watch the development and remain hopeful and prayerful that this will not hinder the work that God has called us to.  Pray with us that God will eliminate this virus as an obstacle for our mission!
