Discussion Q's for 12-28

Today in WIRED, this was our last week in the series based on the Chronicles of Narnia Price Caspian. We discussed the victory we have in Christ this morning.


Student: How have you seen God’s power (Greatness)?


Parent: How have you seen God’s mercy (Goodness)?

All: Is there a struggle in your life where you can see your need for God’s power or mercy?

Together: Pray for each other to be able to trust God to claim the victory in your lives.

Discussion Q's for 12-21

Today in WIRED, we discussed forgiveness, specifically forgiving others. The focus of our discussion was the conflict between mercy and judgment.


Student: Explain the concept of sowing and reaping.


Student: How does this apply to mercy and judgment?

All: What is one way you are tempted to judge others?

All: Share about a relationship that needs mercy shown?

Together: Pray for the relationships you shared about.

Discussion Q's for 12-14

Today in WIRED, we discussed pride and its role in the spiritual battles we are in. In Prince Caspian we saw the spiritual battle portrayed as Peter and the others attacked...


Student: What was the result of Peter’s prideful attitude?


All: What can pride do to your relationship with God?

All: Share a current battle/struggle you are facing?

Together: Pray together for God to show you the spiritual battle in your struggle and how to seek God’s kingdom in it.

Media and our kids

Here is an interesting article from the NY Times that hightlights another recent study done on the effects that exposure to media has on children/youth.  The other article I posted a link to focused on sexual activity, but this one expanded their work to include 7 health related topics.  The bottom line (which you probably already know instinctively) is there is a direct connection between media (movies, music, TV, magazines, internet, etc) and unhealthy, negative dynamics/patterns in their lives.  You may have already known this to be true and now you have more emperical evidence to stand on.
